Hey there! 👋
I’m Kevin Duane. I’ve been tinkering with the internet since 1993—when Perl code was sorcery and parchment-colored HTML was peak design.
Based in the Los Angeles area, I’ve been making magic at The Walt Disney Company for the past 15+ years as a Systems Reliability Engineer (aka SRE). My job? Making systems reliable, automating toil, and helping developers and operations teams work together without the drama.
🔥 Now
- Prototyping AI copilots (Claude Code, GPT-4) for on-call runbooks and internal docs
- Expanding the Hey Disney! ecosystem with new conversational edge cases
- Migrating legacy Pelican content to Hugo with Claude-assisted workflows
- Coaching teams on “prompt reliability engineering” (it’s a thing)
Recent Adventures
- Hey Disney! for Amazon Echo – Unique CI/CD pipelining and Developer enablement. Reliability lead for the 2022 launch.
- DisneyGPT Beta – Built robust development pipelines, self-service infrastructure and meaningful observability for our internal generative tooling
- Movies Anywhere – Glued together multiple DRM ecosystems so people can take “their” movies with them wherever they go.
- Studio Technology / Parks & Resorts – Bringing the magic to the cloud and beyond.
These days, I’m obsessed with weaving AI into day-to-day ops: turning “copy/paste” notebooks into trusted copilots.
Why “Mostly Copy and Paste”?
This site started as a personal collection of code snippets, configurations, and solutions I kept reusing across projects. You know the drill—you solve a problem once, bookmark it mentally (or not), then spend 30 minutes searching Stack Overflow six months later when you need it again.
Since 2003, I’ve been collecting these practical solutions and sharing interesting news and insights, from early CGI scripts and Apache configs to modern Terraform modules and Kubernetes manifests. The name is tongue-in-cheek but honest: we all copy and paste. The trick is not knowing everything but knowing where to find it when you need it.

About This Site
This site is built with Hugo, deployed on AWS via S3 + CloudFront, and managed with Terraform. The entire migration from Pelican to Hugo was assisted by Claude Code—a perfect example of AI-enhanced development in action.
If you find something useful here, great! If you spot an error or have a better solution, even better. That’s how we all learn.
Since 2003, making technology more accessible, one copy-paste at a time.
